Close the doors and take the phone
off the hook...
What I'm going to cover in this
email is really that important.
Let me start by saying it's so funny to see
people find every excuse in the world not to do something for
their future, as they always find an excuse why they couldn't do
this or that, yet they will come up with every reason why they
need to buy a boat or go on a holiday etc.
Yes I also do believe in "living for today" but
you must remember to plan for tomorrow because tomorrow will
come so quickly and you will wonder why you didn't make that
move years ago.
It's sad you know, because we spend more time
planning for a holiday or a birthday party than we do planning
for our own future.
I was listening to the SBS the other day and
they were discussing about people getting ready for retirement
in Australia and what was happening to the mind-set.
I know you will agree with the man on this
point...
He said "People
in Australia think that they are in a fairytale, so they
think, when they get to retirement, everything will work out
just fine,
so they decide not to do anything today.
Until they
actually start reaching retirement and the panic
button comes on and their mind realises, Hey we need to do
something before we retire".
And when they do retire it hits them between the eyes, and yet
they wonder why they didn't do something about it while they
were younger and they also wonder how are they are going to
survive on the pension.
If you want to do some investing, then bite the bullet and just
do it, (as long as your cash flow, LVR and banks give you the
money).
Always remember one thing, when your taking a
step forward in life. It will be uncomfortable when you get out
of your comfort zone and start making a stand for you and your
family, that's why there are only a small number of people that
will retire comfortably and become financially independent.
And this takes a commitment from your part to be
able to move ahead in life just like getting married or
committing to a job.
We all can relate this commitment to our
Sportsman, Olympians, Celebrities, Actors, self employed people
and you don't have to look far just look at the mums and dads
that made
a commitment to bring up children plus there are so much more
that you can relate to.
So let me ask you this question
Dino-
How would you like to be able to
retire by CHOICE and not by age?
Wouldn't you like to be in a position where you
wake up in the morning and decide to take your family on a month
holiday and if YOU felt like, extending it because you wanted
to?
How would that make you feel as a person,
imagine having the freedom to make choices like this?
To me, this is what life is all about, and at
least this is what every person should strive for when they are
to retire. And shouldn't it be that way for you, we work for
most of our lives to retire on a $240 a week pension, what's
gone wrong?
Is it laziness of educating ourselves
financially, or just turning a blind eye to the position that we
are in and knowing we should do something but we just can't get
over that mindset.
You see investing is a step by step process,
just like everything else you do today.
Will there be problems or concerns when
investing, of-course their will be, but that's what makes it so
exciting, and as long as you have the answer to your concerns,
then there is nothing to worry about.
This is why I guide my clients through property
investment, direct them to the right investment, then direct
them to the right finance people, accountants and if they have
any questions at all, they can ask me to give them a hand.
Whether it will be property, shares or super you
must know what your doing, if not, then seek advise from the
professionals in that field.
Why am I telling you this, because you mark my
word, if you have done nothing for your future but you are in a
position to do something, when you get to retirement, you say
these words.
"Why didn't I do something back then", then you
will be advising your grandchildren to make sure they do
something for their retirement so they don't end up having
nothing when they retire.
I hope I have helped you in some way to start
doing something about your future. Because it's a mind set,
their is no such thing as tomorrow, because it will never come,
today is the
day you start to make things happen.
You look at anyone in life that delays the
decisions and you will see that basically everything in their
life and making a decision is the same and it's a failure habit
called- Procrastination...
The only way to overcome this hurdle is by
attacking it front on and working out if it will benefit you and
your family, and if it will, then seek information that will
give you the information so you can make that right decision.
I used to be like that, but I had to learn to
start making decisions quick and learn to move on, many times
even today I still get nervous when making big decisions. This
fear will never go away but you learn to make decisions that you
know is the right thing to do, so you're not alone.
